Fourth organization to back Grenga as early voting gets under way

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The UAW Northeast Ohio Community Action Program Council has endorsed Terry Grenga for Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division. Council Chairperson Marjory Chambers announced the endorsement in a September 30 letter.

“Our decision is based on your demonstrated commitment to the core values we hold dear: a strong belief in collective bargaining, a dedication to equality and justice, and an unwavering support for the fundamental right to vote,” Chambers wrote.

The UAW is the fourth organization to formally endorse Grenga, joining the Youngstown Warren Black Caucus, the Mahoning/Trumbull Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and the Communications Workers of America District 4.

“UAW members have spent generations standing up for a simple idea: everyone plays by the same rules and gets a fair shake,” Grenga said. “That is what a courtroom owes every family who walks in. I am proud to have the UAW standing with this campaign.”

Grenga has litigated cases throughout Ohio for 27 years, serving as a prosecutor, an assistant law director, and a defense attorney. She is the defense attorney coordinator for the Mahoning County Drug Court, working alongside the Honorable Judge John M. Durkin to connect participants with treatment and reunite them with their families. She volunteers at the Mahoning County Domestic Relations self-help clinic, assisting families who cannot afford to hire counsel.

“Every case on the Domestic Relations docket is a family at a turning point: a divorce, a custody schedule, a support order that has to work on a real paycheck,” Grenga said. “Those families deserve a judge who listens before she decides and explains her decisions in plain language.”

The Domestic Relations judgeship appears on a nonpartisan ballot. Early in-person voting is under way, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
