The first organization to back Grenga, after members put her through the Caucus’s own screening process

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown Warren Black Caucus has endorsed Terry Grenga for Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division. The endorsement came in a March 23 letter signed by Rev. Kenneth L. Simon, chairman of the Caucus’s screening committee, and Caucus President Jaladah Aslam.

“After careful consideration, the members of YWBC have decided to endorse your campaign,” the letter reads. It thanks Grenga for “your willingness to answer our questions and share your views on policies that affect our community,” and closes, “Again, congratulations and let’s win in November.”

“Before they made their decision, the Caucus asked hard questions about the issues facing our community, and I welcomed every one of them,” Grenga said. “A judge should be able to answer for how she will treat the people who come before her.”

The Caucus was the first organization to endorse Grenga. It has since been joined by the Mahoning/Trumbull Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and the Communications Workers of America District 4.

Grenga has litigated cases throughout Ohio for 27 years, serving as a prosecutor, an assistant law director, and a defense attorney. She is the defense attorney coordinator for the Mahoning County Drug Court, working alongside the Honorable Judge John M. Durkin to connect participants with treatment and reunite them with their families. She volunteers at the Mahoning County Domestic Relations self-help clinic, assisting families who cannot afford to hire counsel.

“Nearly three decades in Ohio courtrooms taught me that behind every case file is a real family,” Grenga said. “As Domestic Relations Judge, I will make sure everyone who walks into my courtroom is treated with the dignity they deserve.”

The Domestic Relations judgeship appears on a nonpartisan ballot. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Early in person voting begins October 6, and the voter registration deadline is October 5.
